EAST PROVIDENCE — Several fundraisers for the upcoming fall sports season are on tap for programs in the East Providence School system, including the EPHS girls’ volleyball squad. The following is a list of the events:
EPHS girls’ volleyball team conducts annual carwash fundraiser
The East Providence High School girls’ volleyball program conducts its annual carwash fundraiser at the Mobil On The Run gas station located on Wampanoag Trail Sunday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Townies’ volleyball program. Donations of all monetary figures will be accepted.
Project 106 plans “Fall into Sports” fundraiser at Whiskey Republic
Project 106, the community organization tasked with helping save middle school sports in the city, is hosting a “Fall into Sports” fundraising event Saturday, Aug. 24, from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Whiskey Republic located at 515 South Water St. in Providence. A day of great music, food and fun is planned. Raffles, including a 50-50 money pot, will be held. Bands scheduled to appear include Pier 6, Mark Rock, Crushed Velvet and Brother to Brother. All proceeds go towards the funding of sports at both Martin and Riverside Middle Schools.
Middle School Sports Boosters plan music night at Bovi’s Tavern
The East Providence Middle Schools Athletics Booster Club and Bovi’s Tavern proudly present “A Musical Night Out” Saturday, Sept. 7, featuring Str8 Shot, the return of Mainbreak and the debut performance of Hurley’s Hero’s (featuring members of Kicking Hole and Mark Rocks). Plus there will the comedic stylings of Darrin Smith (fresh off his Foxwoods appearance), raffles, a 50/50 drawing, special appearances by Dennis Oil Can Boyd and much much more. There is a $10 cover charge and all money raised will go directly to Middle School Sports. Please come out and enjoy the night.
Coaches clinic takes place at St. Raphael in Pawtucket
The “Aspire 2 Inspire” coaches clinic presented by Jim Black, a Mt. Hope High School assistant basketball coach, takes place Saturday, Aug. 24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the St. Raphael Academy gym in Pawtucket. as coaches we all interact with young people who aspire to accomplish their goals and as their coach/mentor it is our job to inspire them to do so. this annual clinic has been started with rhode island basketball in mind, looking to help all coaches from all levels. we embrace all coaches from all backgrounds to attend in hopes they aspire to inspire the young people you coach. Please remember that registering prior to the day of secures your spot for attending and is only $75 if received prior to Saturday. Day of the clinic fee is $80.
