EAST PROVIDENCE — A 38-year-old male city resident was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a car Wednesday evening, Nov. 20, according to East Providence Police.
The accident took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Waterman and Massasoit Avenues and Summit Street as the man was departing the Red Bridge Tavern restaurant.
The man suffered head injuries. He was treated at the scene by East Providence Fire Department personnel and transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was conscious and alert.
The driver of the car was a 78-year-old male also from the city. He has not been charged, according to police, who say the accident remains under investigation.
