CRANSTON — The Rhode Island Lottery announced Monday, Aug. 25, an East Providence man collected $10,000 when he validated two $1 four-digit straight Numbers tickets.
According to the press release, he played his favorite number 1199 on both tickets for the August 22 evening drawing. He said he has the Lottery’s winning numbers hotline on speed dial and learned of his win when he called in for the results.
While he is still coming up with a plan to use his winnings, he did say he may buy a few more tickets using those lucky digits. East Bay Food Mart, 244 Taunton Ave., East Providence, sold both winning tickets.
