League, Post host general election debate for East Providence candidates

EAST PROVIDENCE — The League Of Women Voters and The East Providence Post/East Bay Newspapers along with the Rotary Of East Providence and Seekonk and the Cape Verdean Progressive Center present a forum for East Providence candidates in the 2014 General Election on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave.

The League of Women Voters of Rhode Island, East Bay Newspapers, the Rotary of East Providence and Seekonk announce the candidates who will be participating in a public forum for the 2014 election in East Providence. The audience is encouraged to submit questions in writing the night of the forum.  Index cards will be provided. This is your chance to compare all the candidates and decide who you think is best qualified to run East Providence.

State Legislature

Senate District 32: Cynthia Coyne and Giovanni DiCiccione
House District 64: Robert Botelho and Helio Melo
House District 66: Joy Hearn and Joel Hellman

East Providence School Committee

Ward 4:  Jessica Beauchaine and Karen Doucette

East Providence City Council

Ward 1:  Robert Britto and David Sullivan
Ward 2:  Brian Castro and Helder Cunha
Ward 3:  Thomas A Rose, Jr., Candace Cain Seel
Ward 4:  Timothy J Conley and Chrissy Rossi

The forum will be broadcast at 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, Friday, Oct. 25, Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26, at noon and at 8 p.m. on Cox 17 and on Verizon 24, courtesy of Public Education and Government Public Access TV.
