EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence Post confirmed information released earlier Thursday, Sept. 3, on the city website and found also on the school department website that school buses will arrive 15 minutes earlier each morning for the time being.
This move is for city schools only. Private and parochial schools will remain on their current schedules.
Students will be picked up 15 minutes earlier than listed on current schedules due to concerns over traffic snarls posed by the ongoing water system construction throughout the city.
Said Director of School Operations Diana Clarkin, “At this point it is to adjust some of the buses arriving to school late. While it is only the third day of school we have had a couple of factors against us – construction and traffic patterns. We will be monitoring daily until we feel we have it going smoothly.”
