East Providence Chamber extends deadline for Portugal trip registration

EAST PROVIDENCE — Due to increased interest the East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce has extended the deadline to register for its first-ever vacation package for members and non-members, a trip to Portugal and its Islands featuring Estoril Coast, Azores and Madeira.

The trip takes place November 7-19, 2014. The deadline to register is now Monday, June 9, and includes a $250 discount from the total price. The final payment is due by September 9.

The trip includes 13 days and 18 meals. Discover the gems of Portugal few travelers have seen. Enjoy multi-night stays on the remote islands of São Miguel, Azores and Madeira, the “pearl of the Atlantic.” Take in breathtaking landscapes, marvel at the geothermal wonderland of Furnas Valley and the natural beauty of the twin lakes of Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo (Fire Lake).

Explore medieval towns, charming coastal villages and beautiful botanical gardens.   Azorean culinary traditions come to life during an interactive cooking class. Discover Portugal’s Riviera with visits to the fairytale town of Sintra, the charming fishing village of Cascais and chic Estoril.  Tour Lisbon and see how the Old World blends with the modern. Visit 5 UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the magnificent Batalha Monastery.  Indulge in local cuisine, regional wines and traditional entertainment.

Discover the beauty of Portugal’s Riviera with visits to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril. Experience an entertaining evening featuring Portuguese cuisine, local wine, folkloric dances and the moving sounds of Fado.
